Adrian Sanders MP will be meeting with Innovation and Skills Minister Sion Simon later today to push for a resolution on funding for South Devon College.
The £23 million expansion plans were put on hold following a decision by the Learning and Skills Council to delay approving new projects.
The plans by South Devon College, including a new higher education facility, an eco farm and an enterprise and research centre were due to commence in April or May.
Adrian said: "At a time when capital projects can do so much for the economy, the delays being experienced with so many colleges are inexcusable. Hopeully the Minister will see sense and put the investment plans back on schedule."
